The city of St Peter, MN in Nicollet County is in the heart of the beautiful Minnesota River Valley. The city of Saint Peter is located 10 miles north of Mankato and 65 miles south of Minneapolis-Saint Paul.
 
Founded in 1853 and incorporated 20 years later, Saint Peter, MN was originally intended to be the state’s capital, but just prior to the vote that would have named it as such, the chairman of the Territorial Legislature hid the bill, naming neighboring Saint Paul instead.

Despite this coup, the city has lived up to its historic notoriety. Today Saint Peter is a vibrant and bustling community abounding with museums, galleries, and a thriving entrepreneurial community.

The city boasts more than 40 buildings on the National Register of Historic Places, two dozen restaurants in its historic downtown, more than 19 parks, and a plethora of hiking and recreational opportunities.
